I’m trusting you will come to me,

Most surely in a dream,

I must believe and trust in God

to know where you have been–

Perhaps you’ll tell me that you saw

your buddies from this life,

smiling, laughing, free from pain and strife,

Was that your mother shining from one side

and did your father take your hand

to lead your soul inside?

Did you stop to linger, wondering–

should you really go?

Your brightness hurts my eyes–

I think that you should know–

but I trust you’ll come for me,

when my time draws near,

and you’ll reach out to let me know

there’s nothing I should fear.
