STRANGERS

we’ve become strangers, you and I,

who once shared our bodies and bed,

Although I recall the way you would smile,

And everything you ever said,

It’s more than the distance that keeps us apart,

For time has taken its toll,

We’ve gone separate ways;

Our lives have been changed,

Events spiraled out of control.

I long to be with you, just one more time,

But sense that the die has been cast,

I couldn’t have known,

As I laid with you then,

that last time….was really our last.
