This is an ode to all of the librarians,
who like nothing more than their books
and searching for authors at your request–
It’s a job much harder than it looks;
They have to check books in and out
and shush people making some noise,
And it’s just as you would expect,
The worst offenders are boys!
But the librarian takes her job seriously,
and doesn’t suffer fools gladly,
If you are late returning a book
They’ll frown until you feel badly;
The library is a librarian’s domain,
Surrounded by books gives her pleasure,
It’s a dream of a job in which she is queen,
The books are the gold that she treasures!
