I am woman;

I cook but don’t sew;

I read all the time–

(There’s so much to know)

I love who I am

and proud of my life,

It’s brought me through decades

some joys and some strife;

It takes a long time

To enrich your soul

To become  your own star;

I’m proud of my sons

and their children, you see,

We’re watching them grow

to learn what they’ll be.

I am woman – not man,

It’s better this way–

I continue to discover

More every day;

I’m just hitting my stride,

Can’t wait for what’s next–

Just don’t ever say

That I’m the weaker sex
