Everybody needs a place,
A place to call one’s own,
A place in which we have great pride,
From which we’d never roam;
I’ve lived a lot of places, friend,
From Atlantic to Pacific,
Some of them were not so great,
While others were terrific.
I’ve put down roots throughout this land,
But found I couldn’t rest,
But the place of pride I now call home
Surely is the best –
Someone else had chosen most
Of those places, in the past,
But I chose this place and here I’ll stay,
It’s my place of pride at last.
