WILL THERE EVER BE A TIME…
Will there ever be a time
When all of us will gather together—
In a church, in a park, in someone’s back yard–
– it doesn’t matter where, it only matters who.
I yearn for the togetherness we shared
When Dad died. When all seven were together,
If only for a few hours.
Yes, I know, we all live separate lives.
It is what it is, my son Steve would say.
This is what we are missing, being divided
Amongst half a dozen (or more) states.
If I have one wish in this lifetime
It is that we can all be together again,
All of us – the six remaining, our spouses,
our children, their children.
Together, somewhere, if only for a brief
Moment in time.
